Overcoming depression

Overcoming depression the natural way
What is the reason why every winter season so many people get depressed and sad.
According to Center for Disease Control or CDC winter time has the highest rate
of depression because of the climate change. The days are shorter and the night is
longer. Most people who are vulnerable to depression or Seasonal Affective Disorder
(SAD) need more light. The scientists thought that the sun gives the right amount of
heat to initiate movement of neurotransmitters in the brain.
Therefore, the sunlight plays a vital role in keeping our behavior normal.

Predisposed people to depression or Seasonal Affactive Disorder (SAD) are adviced to have more sun exposure or keep their light on at home or take vitamin D. But they should be wary of the possibility of skin cancer due to over exposure to sunlight. What we really need to know is how to get enough heat from the sun for our well being. The ozone layer
which is supposedly protecting us from too much exposure from sunlight has been discovered to have a big hole. What we need to do now is to use topical cream or sunscreen lotion to protect our skin from being fried during hot summer day. This is not a problem though during winter.
Unfortunately, what winter brings to some people is loneliness, sadness, and a feeling of depression. In order to overcome depression or the feeling of sadness during winter season we need the following activites:
Join a health club Joining a health club will inspire us to do regular exercises. Physical exercises help eliminate dead cells in the brain and give birth to new cells. To be more technical about it, the neurotransmitters such as dopamine are responsible for physiological and mental reactions of people. Individuals with higher dopamine level are more interactive and sociable.

Of course, if you want to save money during winter and you don't want to join an expensive or even inexpensive health club you can find a friend who can walk or exercise with you on a regular basis and it will do the same benefit.

If you are depressed and looking for natural way of fighting it you can use natural remedies that are readily available in many food supplement organic stores. If you can't sleep because of your anxiety you can use chamomile tea. This tea is known for calming and sleeping effect.
Another helpful natural product for mild anxiety is the St John's wort.
This is very popular among naturologists.

Finally, if your head is spinning and you feel as if you're losing control, take a deep breath and hold it as long as you can while reciting the a,b,c inversely. However, if sysmptoms persist consult your doctors.
